With this debut, Vision Infinity officially ushers in the “Made-in-China” era of EDoF IOLs.

For years, the high-end segment of ophthalmic consumables in China—especially premium refractive intraocular lenses—has been dominated by imported brands, leaving domestic clinicians with few home-grown alternatives. Rayming Vision, a trailblazer in Chinese ophthalmic innovation, has just rewritten that narrative.

On 10 July 2025, Vision Infinity®—the nation’s first domestically developed extended-depth-of-focus (EDoF) IOL—was formally launched at the 25th Congress of Cataract & Refractive Surgery of the Chinese Medical Association. The announcement drew widespread acclaim from leading ophthalmologists across China and around the world.

Ms. Li Jing’en, Marketing Director of Rayming Vision, chaired the launch session. Professor Yao Ke, Chair of the Ophthalmology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, delivered a congratulatory address, and dozens of prominent specialists expressed their enthusiasm both on-site and online, hailing the arrival of a “made-in-China” premium IOL as “an unstoppable force in high-end medical devices.”

Professor Tian Fang of Tianjin Medical University Eye Hospital presented the lens’s design philosophy and Phase III clinical data, underscoring Vision Infinity’s breakthrough performance in extending depth of focus while preserving contrast and minimizing visual disturbances.

Opening the session, Dr. Liao Xiu-gao—Chairman and General Manager of Rayming Vision—took the stage. He recalled that since its founding, Rayming has been driven by a single mantra: innovate and transcend. Last year the company launched VisQuint®—China’s first domestically produced trifocal IOL; this year it adds Vision Infinity®, the country’s first refractive EDoF lens without diffractive rings. “Patients can now expect uncompromised, high-quality vision after surgery,” Dr. Liao pledged.

But Vision Infinity is only one milestone on a much longer road. Rayming is simultaneously advancing a portfolio that includes phakic IOLs, color-changing cosmetic lenses, orthokeratology lenses, and novel therapeutics for dry eye. “Step by step, product by product, we intend to place Rayming Vision at the forefront of ophthalmic innovation,” Dr. Liao concluded.

Professor Yao Ke, Chair of the Ophthalmology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, extended his congratulations on the official launch of Vision Infinity®—China’s first domestically developed extended-depth-of-focus (EDoF) intraocular lens.

“In the 2021 Expert Consensus on Intraocular Lens Classification issued by the Cataract and IOL Group of our society,” Professor Yao noted, “continuous-range IOLs—also known as EDoF or depth-of-field-extending lenses—were established as a distinct category. Through varied optical designs, these lenses elongate the focal range, meeting patients’ needs for clear distance, intermediate, and reasonably good near vision.”

“I am delighted that Rayming Vision has independently designed, developed, and now obtained NMPA approval for Vision Infinity®. It is the first domestic continuous-range IOL, adding another brilliant jewel to China’s self-developed refractive-lens portfolio. I look forward to Vision Infinity® serving Chinese patients soon—and ultimately stepping onto the global stage to deliver outstanding postoperative outcomes and visual quality for patients worldwide.”

On site, the excitement was palpable. Every ophthalmologist present could feel the collective anticipation and heartfelt congratulations for Rayming Vision’s Vision Infinity® EDoF IOL. The room buzzed with pride that China has now engineered a lens that rivals the best on the global stage, and with confidence that Rayming Vision’s journey is only beginning.

There is a shared conviction that Rayming has the capability to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the world’s leading IOL manufacturers—shattering the long-standing monopoly on premium refractive lenses and delivering top-tier solutions to Chinese patients, while also harnessing China’s advanced productivity and R&D power to step onto the world stage and claim its rightful place in the international high-end ophthalmic market.
